Primary Children's Hospital and Coldwell Banker Community Foundation
In 1992 after my mother passed away a group of neighbors decorated and dedicated a Christmas tree in my mothers name to be sold at the Festival of Trees. It was a very humbling experience to see all that went in to the tree and deocorations, then to see what someone was willing to pay for the tree and decorations and finally to have that buyer then turn around and give the tree to my father.
All the money earned from the trees and decorations that are sold at the Festival of Trees goes to the Primary Children's Hospital. The festival which started in 1970 and made $47,000.00 that year with the sale of 60 Christmas trees. The fesitval has now earned over $35 million dollars and continues to be a magnificent resource supporting Primary Children's Hospital with over 700 decorated trees and miscellaneous Christmas decorations from playhouses to nativities to stuffed animals, quilts and more.
For the eighth year in a row, the Community Foundation for Coldwell Banker donated a tree to the silent auction, which sold for $3,600.00. The Foundation donated another $10,000.00 to Primary Children's Hospital through the Festival.
I am so grateful to all those who support this Festival each year and to have the incredible resources of the Primary Children's Hospital so near.
Have a wonderful Christmas.
